Weston Drama Workshop announces auditions for its 50th Anniversary Season

 

Weston Drama Workshop is dedicated to the celebration and appreciation of live theater. Our programs are for participants of middle school age through age 23. Under the guidance of professional directors, our members experience theater arts and technical theater by participating in workshops and full-length productions. Programs and shows are age-appropriate and selected for their learning and enjoyment value. Productions reflect a variety of genres and styles, the history of theater, and technical challenge. Weston Drama Workshop welcomes age-eligible individuals of all ability levels from Greater Boston, Metro communities, and beyond.

Summer Season AUDITION INFO:

YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN: Auditions will be held at the Weston Town Hall on Saturday, May 19 @ 10am & 12pm and Sunday, May 20 @ 10am & 12pm.  CALLBACKS: Sunday, May 20 @ 2pm.  Participants should only attend one of the above audition slots. No sign up is required for audition slots.   Although pre-registration is encouraged, registration at auditions is also an option. 

THE FABULOUS FABLE FACTORY: Auditions for this show will be held at the end of the first week of the program. No prior auditions will be held.  Some slots are still available for this program.

LES MISÉRABLES/42nd STREET/THE ILLUSION: Auditions for these shows will be held on: Tuesday, May 15 @ 7pm, Wednesday, May 16 @ 7pm, Saturday, May 19 @ 2pm & 4pm.  CALLBACKS: Sunday, May 20 @ 5pm.  Participants should only attend one of the above audition slots. No sign up is required for audition slots.   Slots are still available for this program. Registration at auditions is an option.

What do I prepare? For the musicals, please prepare one musical theatre song of your choosing. This song should ideally be in the style of the production(s) for which you are auditioning and showcase your vocal talent. An accompanist will be provided for you. Please bring legible sheet music in a binder for the accompanist. If you do not feel comfortable preparing a song, music will be provided for you. Please wear comfortable clothes and dance shoes (if you have them) for the dance audition, if applicable. A cold reading from the script will be provided for any acting portions. More information will be e-mailed to pre-registrants prior to the audition dates.
