Parents: Sharing of Yale grad’s essay is a comfort

Atlanta Journal Constitution 5/29/12: Parents: Sharing of Yale grad's essay is a comfort. The parents of a Yale graduate who died in a car crash days after commencement say they're comforted that people are using social media to share her final student newspaper column. Massachusetts native Marina Keegan implored classmates to "make something happen to this world" in an essay the Yale Daily News published at graduation time. She and her boyfriend, fellow Yale graduate Michael Gocksch of Centerport, N.Y., were heading to her family's vacation home Saturday on Cape Cod when their vehicle crashed in the town of Dennis. The victim's parents, Kevin and Tracy Keegan, say Gocksch fell asleep at the wheel, but they don't blame him for the accident. He survived. The 22-year-old Keegan was about to start a job at The New Yorker, after previously interning and blogging there.
