NStar halts tree clearing in MetroWest

Wayland Town Crier 6/5/12: NStar halts tree clearing in MetroWest. NStar has put a temporary halt to its controversial tree-clearing work in Framingham, Sudbury and Wayland, a representative for the power utility said yesterday. But the stoppage comes too late for some residents, who reported trees had already been reduced to stumps in their neighborhoods. “We’ve decided to temporarily hold off on our tree removal work on our rights of way,” said NStar spokesman Michael Durand, “so we can further our discussions with the local towns about how we can best address their concerns.”
