Wayland Town Crier 9/14/12: Wayland's longtime veterans agent steps down. The town bid Godspeed, but not goodbye, to its Veterans Agent John Turchinetz, 87, who is retiring after 13-and-a-half years on the job, at a reception on Wednesday morning at the Senior Center. More than 70 of Turchinetz’s friends and admirers, including Pearl Harbor vet Gerald Halterman of Sudbury, gathered to pay him honor.
