SOAR 55 November volunteer listings

If you are 55 plus and interested in exploring how local volunteering can expand your world, SOAR 55 will provide you with a professional and personal volunteer search for an assignment that matches your skills, interests and schedule. Choose from many local volunteer opportunities: train to develop or expand a volunteer program at a nonprofit as a Volunteer Coordinator; help an elementary school child improve their reading or math skills, so critical to future success; coordinate a comprehensive employment navigation and support program for adults trying to break through chronic poverty and achieve sustainable career paths; help a senior navigate the healthcare system by accompanying them to doctor’s appointments and healthcare visits to insure they understand medical issues and follow-up instructions; help a pre-release inmate prepare for their GED (high school equivalency exam) and achieve successful re-entry in to the community; assist the membership and development staff of an art museum with special events, phonathons and campaigns; develop marketing strategies and tactics to increase awareness for an organization that provides critical transportation for seniors and the visually impaired; help 12-14 year olds with their homework in one of the following subjects: math, language arts, science, social studies, Spanish, or French; and much more.
