Wayland COA presents “Simple Solutions Expo”, Wednesday, April 3

SENIOR DISCOUNT CHARLIE CARDS, WALK-IN TUBS, STAIR LIFTS, GROCERY DELIVERY and GADGETS ALL AT “SIMPLE SOLUTIONS EXPO”, WED, APR 3, 3-6PM.  Program Flyer is available online here.

Over 25 vendors plus speakers will feature tips, tools, techniques and strategies to live more fully and comfortably in your own home as personal needs, abilities and preferences change over time.

Explore the vendor tables to learn about home modification ideas, clutter and organization strategies, home safety, senior housing options, helpful gadgets, grocery delivery, prepared meals, walk in tubs, stair lifts, ramps and more!

Learn about Emerson Hospital’s upcoming AARP Car Fit event as well as transportation opportunities. Bring a photo ID with age verification and leave with a reduced fare Charlie Card. Register for MWRTA Dial A Ride service if a Wayland resident.

Stop by the speaker area, and enjoy complimentary refreshments while you pick up tips from the mini presentations on the half hour. Wayland Fire Department will talk about home safety ..use of generators, lock boxes and more. Tom Antonellis will share simple home modification ideas to consider. The mini presentations start at 3:30 pm. Kick-off speaker is Marie LeBlanc with organizational tips for all your possessions.

Free admission and free raffles. Whether you’re an older adult or a non-senior addressing changing needs with family members or friends, don’t miss this event.

  • 4:30pm TIPS, TOOLS AND GADGETS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING Parmenter Health: Terry Banhazl, OTR, Sue Rushfirth, RPT
  • 5:00pm HOME MODIFICATION IDEAS and FUNDING OPTIONS Builder, Tom Antonellis; Christy Cutting, Mass Rehab Commission
  • 5:30pm HOME SAFETY – INCLUDING GENERATORS, DETECTORS, LOCK BOXES Wayland Fire Dept.

SIMPLE SOLUTIONS EXPO is presented by the Wayland Council On Aging. It will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 3pm-6pm at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Road, Wayland. Park at church or at Wayland Town Building. (COA “flag down” shuttle service to church will be available for attendees parking at Town Building adjacent to church).
