Water Samplers Needed

The snows have finally melted, and OARS is setting up the water quality monitoring season and looking for volunteers! Email or call Suzanne Flint (978 369-3956/sflint@oars3rivers.org) to ask questions or let her know you’re interested. Volunteers are trained and monitoring is done one Sunday a month from May through September starting about 6 am on the Assabet, Concord, and Sudbury Rivers. On the Sudbury River, monitoring is done at Sherman’s Bridge, Route 27, Pelham Island, Hop Brook, and Saxonville. It takes two to three hours and the rest of the day is yours to enjoy.

If you haven’t volunteered before, you can find more information about volunteering online here. If you are a returning volunteer – “Thank you!” You make our monitoring program possible and provide the data that we use to understand and advocate for the rivers.

Sunday, May 5th, 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. in Acton
Thursday, May 9th, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Wayland
