Weston Drama Workshop offers five theater productions for all to enjoy

Rehearsals are now in full swing for Weston Drama Workshop’s 51st  Season. WDW presents five shows at Regis College from July 18-27: “Shrek, the Musical,” “James & the Giant Peach,” “Almost, Maine,” “Blood Brothers,” and “How 2 Succeed in Business.”

We are beyond excited to be one of the first in Massachusetts to present…   SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar® winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage. Full of all-new songs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone!

A magical peach! An imprisoned boy! Insect friends! An incredible journey! This amazing adventure of James Henry Trotter will fulfill the fantasy of anyone who has ever dreamed of escape. Roald Dahl’s story comes hilariously to life in this theater production for young audiences.  Only one public performance!

BLOOD BROTHERS is a haunting rags to riches tragedy of our times. A deeply moving story of twin boys who are separated from one another at birth yet grow up streets apart, become  firm friends and never learn the truth. One prospers while the other falls on hard times.  Ultimately, a price must be paid for separating the two blood brothers.

Power, sex, ambition, greed… it’s just another day at the office. From the authors of GUYS AND DOLLS comes one of the most delightfully irreverent musicals of all time.

Recently revived on Broadway starring Daniel Radcliffe, this is satire of big business and all it holds sacred.  HOW TO SUCCEED melds wit, comedy, and romance together to perfection.

All performances are held at Regis College Fine Arts Center, 235 Wellesley St., Weston and are produced with support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Tickets: $17 for adults and $12 for children under 12.
