MUSHROOM WALK
Memorial Forest, Sudbury & Marlborough
Sunday, July 13, 2014, 1:30 – 4:00 pm

Led by Doug Brown of the BMC. On the walk participants will collect and then sort their collections for identification. “Informal” ID sessions will be held on the walk. Walking the trail in groups of mixed experience, attendees will collect representative samples of mushrooms and related fungi. There is usually lots of informal discussion about mushrooms, fungus ecology, identification techniques, books, and which wild mushrooms taste best. After the collection, gather together, sort the collection by type, and then participate in a detailed identification talk where BMC’s Identification Committee will explain what the mushrooms are and offer tips for mushroom ID. This an open discussion session where all mushroom questions are welcome. No experience necessary, just dress for the weather and a walk in the woods.
