Wayland Patch 7/31/14: Child Medflighted After Being Struck by Car. An 11-year-old boy was Medflighted after being hit by a car on Oxbow Road on Thursday.

Wayland Police and Fire responded to Oxbow Road at about 5:50 p.m. Thursday after a motor vehicle struck the child, who was riding a bike, according to Wayland Police.

The 11-year-old suffered injuries to his legs, hip and head. A Medflight transported him to Tufts Medical Center.

Police said speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident. No charges are pending; the accident remains under investigation.
