ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pearl McCarthy graduated from Mass College of Art in Boston. She studied still life with Boston painter Nadia Mafuz. Ms. McCarthy joined a portrait group and started drawing, then painting portraits. After winning prizes in local shows for her portraits of people and animals, she started receiving commissions. Her paintings hang in private collections across the country, and reveal her commitment to “capturing the moment”. “My goal for my portraits is to maintain a likeness and capture their expression… hopefully I can capture a sense of joy, wonder and delight,” says Pearl McCarthy. She teaches a small group art class and runs a summer portrait group. Pearl McCarthy lives in Wayland, Massachusetts with her husband and their children.More of Pearl’s work can be seen on her website: http://pearlmccarthy.com
