Pam’s Run 2014 Featured 575 Participants and Raised $90,000 For Neighbor Brigade

pamsrunNeighbor Brigade, a Massachusetts non-profit organization that transforms communities into caring centers where volunteers help their neighbors during times of crisis, announced today that Pam’s Run, its largest fundraiser, attracted 575 registered participants and raised approximately $90,000 for the organization. The second-annual road race, named in the memory of Neighbor Brigade’s founder Pam Washek, took place on October 18 in Wayland.

“We’re thrilled at the success of this year’s Pam’s Run,” said Stephanie Lawrence, Neighbor Brigade’s executive director. “We want to thank all of the runners and walkers and everyone who generously donated their time and/or money. A special thanks goes out to all of our sponsors and retired New England Patriot Matt Light, who delivered some words of encouragement to runners and walkers before the start of the race.”

With 35 chapters throughout Massachusetts, Neighbor Brigade provides temporary support to help residents facing a sudden crisis, such as a devastating illness, accident or other tragic event. Volunteers provide non-medical, non-monetary services and collaborate with the shared purpose of helping fellow residents. All of the proceeds from Pam’s Run will benefit Neighbor Brigade and the expansion of its programs to meet the demand for its services.
