Beehive Art Studio Brings Winter Workshop to Claypit Hill School

beehiveartKim Poler of Beehive Art Studio in Wayland is offering an eight-week winter session at the Claypit Hill School for children in Kindergarten through Grade 3.

The workshops will take place on Thursdays from 3:00 – 4:00 pm, starting January 22 and continuing until March 19. There will be eight one-hour classes, and the fee is $160. Ms. Poler’s classes are open-ended and designed to encourage and support children’s creativity. She presents a variety of projects that introduce the young artists to art techniques taught through a variety of mediums. Children may experiment with watercolors, oil pastels, tempera paints, photo, print and pattern, collage, 3-D sculpture, book making, mobiles, sewing, and textiles.

Ms. Poler has taught elementary art in public and private schools for 25 years. She majored in sculpture at Boston University’s School of Fine Art and has a studio on Concord Road in Wayland.

The Claypit Hill School workshop is being brought to the school district through Wayland School Community Programs, Community Education.
