SOAR 55, we place, train, and support volunteers, age 55 and over, who want to use their skills and experience to help local non-profits and public organizations in Newton and Metro West.
With over 80 nonprofit and public partners, we are able to provide a professional, personalized and thoughtful search to find the right opportunity that matches your interests, values, and schedule.
Some of our opportunities include: help a newly arrived immigrant family adjust to the culture and life in the United States; develop relationships/partnerships with real estate developers and investors for a foundation that benefits cancer research; help military members find employment and encourage employers to hire them; as part of a team, mentor an incarcerated woman enrolled in Boston University’s “College Behind Bars” program; assist with consumer issues through education, referrals to other services and mediation of written complaints; help an art museum/school with special events, and much more!
