Golden Tones chorus launches 27th season with open rehearsals and free concerts

GoldenTones_gold“How About You?”  If you love music and enjoy singing pop classics and show tunes for a variety of audiences, come to Golden Tones chorus’ first open rehearsal on Tuesday, September 1, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Wayland Senior Center (Town Building, corner of Routes 27 and 20).  

There are no auditions and no attendance requirements.  You will find a group of friendly music-lovers from all over the MetroWest area.  At the second open rehearsal on September 8, join us at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments before the rehearsal, courtesy of the Wayland Council on Aging and our own bakers.

“Forget Your Troubles, Come On Get Happy.”   Want to hear us sing?  Come to the Natick Stop & Shop (Routes 9 & 27) on Labor Day Saturday, September 5, at 12:30 p.m.  It’s a free sing-along concert as Golden Tones chorus begins its 27th season.  Bring your appetite and join the fun as the grill and the Golden Tones sizzle!  Through the generosity of Natick Stop & Shop, proceeds from Saturday’s barbecue will benefit the chorus’ continuing musical outreach program of almost 50 uplifting concerts each year, many to underserved audiences.

“What a Wonderful World.”  Join us as we sing al fresco at the Wayland Community Art Fair on Saturday, September 19, at 4:00 p.m.  The fair offers fun for all ages from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, corner of Routes 27 and 20.  Visit artswayland.org for more information.

The mission of Golden Tones chorus is to practice and provide enriching entertainment for senior citizen facilities, schools, faith communities and public events.  Members are men and women of retirement age who sing and dance to lift spirits, have fun, and promote health and social engagement to benefit our audiences and ourselves.
