Musicians of the Old Post Road’s 27th season is comprised of four programs on a musical exploration of the color “green.”

The third of these, their March program, Easy Being Green, explores excellent early works written by well-known composers in their youthful years. While Mozart comes most easily to mind as a composer of prodigious ability at an early age, similar young talent was also exhibited by many other Classical composers. Their concerts showcase the unfolding talents of Hummel, Beethoven, Pinto, and Mozart. Repertoire includes Hummel’s “Variations on a Romance from ‘Une folie'” for flute and piano, Beethoven’s Piano Trio in G Major, WOo 37, Pinto’s sonata in B-flat Major for violin and piano, and Mozart’s Piano Trio in B-Flat Major, K.254.

Performances will be Friday, March 11, 2016, at 7:30 pm at First Parish, 50 Cochituate Rd., Wayland and Saturday March 12, 2016, 3 pm, Emmanuel Church, 15 Newbury St., Boston.  Tickets are available online here.
