MEET THE NEW DIRECTOR OF WEST SUBURBAN VETERANS DISTRICT

The Council on Aging will host a “Meet and Greet” to welcome the new Veterans District director, Sarada Kalpee. The Open House will be 9:30am-11pm on Tuesday, April 26 with a formal introduction at 10am. In Sarada’s new role, she will be responsible for the provision of Veterans services across the communities of Wayland, Weston, Wellesley and Needham. This work includes outreach to veterans, assistance with filing of claims for benefits, certification of applicant eligibility and management of the District office.

Sarada has served in the U.S. Army Reserves since 2002 and currently holds the rank of Staff sergeant. In 2013 she was deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring freedom where she served for 12 months as a Senior Mechanic.

Sarada’s personal understanding of Veterans needs, her passion to make a difference and her awareness of Veterans services on a local, state and federal level will make her a valued asset to our community. A continental breakfast will be served in the COA. The public is invited. There is no charge but reservations are appreciated (508 358 2990).
