In her younger days as a barnstormer, Emily Stilson performed stunts on the wings of airplanes. Her full life is changed as she suffers a debilitating stroke. A few months prior to his commission to write an original radio play by the NPR drama project Earplay, Wings playwright Arthur Kopit Kopit’s father suffered an incapacitating stroke. This inspired him to write this play about the language disorder and psychological perspective of a stroke victim.  Wings follow Emily’s emotional, psychological and physical experience from the moment of the event to her re-emergence from inside her head. We make the uplifting discovery along with Emily, that while her body may be altered her essence is untouched.  Wings is a unique play; a theatrical experience you will long remember.

The cast of Vokes’ production includes Deanna Swan (Framingham), Lea Oppedisano (Hopkinton), Alex Thayer (Maynard), Shelley Wood (Ashland), Michael Lague (Sudbury), Kathleen Dalton (Melrose), Brad Walters (Malden), Cheryl Salatino, (Sudbury) and Jordan DiGloria (Maynard) Director, David Berti, is from Waltham.
