The Program: Discrimination: Anti-semitism, Islamophobia, Racism … What can be done to foster understanding of “the other” and why that understanding is crucial to a democratic society.
Panel Members: Andrew Tarsy, former Executive Director of the Anti-Defamation League of NewEngland and a former Trial Attorney with the Civil Rights Division at the U.S.Department of Justice. He chairs the Racial Justice Initiative at Temple Israel of Boston.
Dr. John Robbins, Executive Director of The Council on American-IslamicRelations, Massachusetts (CAIR). He sits on the board of directors of Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries, the greater Boston area’s oldest interfaith social justice network.
Reverend Liz Walker, Minister at Roxbury Presbyterian Church, award-winning journalist and activist for community healing and cross cultural and interfaith dialogue, is a powerful voice of healing and hope.
Diane Moore, Director of the Religious Literacy Project at Harvard University, and a senior scholar at The Center for the Study of World
Religions. She works to defuse the cultural tinderbox of hate speech, Islamophobia, and discrimination increasing in our society.
