Don’t Miss the Fall College A Cappella Concert at Wayland High, December 2

Wayland High School’s talented a cappella groups – the Muses, T-Tones and Madrigals – are hard at work preparing for the fall College A Cappella Concert on Saturday, December 2, a long-running tradition and a highlight of the Wayland holiday season. Our hosts for the evening will be WHS seniors Joe Lyons and Michael Jones.

The concert will be held at WHS at 7:30 on the first Saturday of December and will feature the Muses (12-member female group), the T-Tones (10-member male group), and the Madrigals (14-member co-ed group), along with three outstanding college groups — the award-winning co-ed Northeastern Nor’easters, the all-female UMass Amherst S#arp Attitude, and the all-male Hamilton Buffers  with Wayland’s own Calvin Neumeyer!  The Nor’easters will also lead a special master class for the Wayland a cappella groups before the concert.

A cappella music features fresh arrangements of both classic and contemporary songs performed by unaccompanied singers, though vocalists sometimes emulate instruments. Having experienced a huge surge in popularity in recent years, a cappella attracts the most talented singers on high school and college campuses nationwide.

Priced at $18, tickets are NOW available at Donelan’s, Russell’s Garden Center, and online at the WHS CAPA website, www.whsarts.org . In previous years, tickets to the fall concert have sold out, so purchase early to guarantee a seat! You can find pictures, videos, and additional information on the concert’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/collegeacappella/, and on the CAPA website at www.whsarts.org .

The bi-annual college a cappella concerts (fall and spring) are major fundraisers for the Creative Arts Parents Association (CAPA), the organization that supports all Wayland High School arts, music and theater programs.
