Later school start time debate continues in Wayland

Wayland Town Crier 7/11/18: Later school start time debate continues in Wayland. After years of discussion about a later start time at the middle and high school, the School Committee is focused on two possible schedules. However, they’re not “ideal”, according to committee Chairwoman Jeanne Downs. The committee narrowed four possible start-time schedules down to two at its Monday night meeting. Both call for an 8:30 a.m. start time at the middle and high school to begin in fall 2019. That’s an hour later than the current start time. The goal is to give students more sleep, which could translate into improved physical and emotional health.
