Metrowest Daily News 11/14/18: Wayland takes first step to ban recreational marijuana. Special Town Meeting on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a ban on recreational marijuana businesses, but the measure must still pass at the polls to go into effect. Voters also rejected a citizens petition for a $1.5 million grass field, approved nearly $800,000 to remove asbestos from the site of a planned affordable housing development, and declined to take up an article that limited the firing of guns.

Wayland Patch 11/14/18: Wayland Voters Say Yes To Pot Ban, No To New Field: TM Results. It’s been a long time coming. Wayland’s going to pass on grass. At Special Town Meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13, voters passed a zoning amendment that will effectively prohibit marijuana establishments, other than registered medical marijuana dispensaries, in town.
