Wayland schools OK later start times for high and middle schoolers

Wayland Town Crier 11/19/18: Wayland schools OK later start times for high and middle schoolers. In front of a packed hearing room, the School Committee voted Monday to adopt a later start time at the high and middle schools, and an earlier start time at the three elementary schools. The 4-1 vote at the Town Building means an 8:30 a.m. start for the high school and an 8:35 start for the middle school. That is one hour later than the current opening bell at both schools, and the early release day would remain. The high school day would end at 3:10 p.m. The town’s three elementary schools will start at 7:55 a.m., roughly an hour earlier.
