ADULT PROGRAMS

  • Holiday Gift Guide. Looking for books for your favorite readers? Stop by the Reference Desk and pick up a copy of our fabulous GiftGuide.  It’s chockful of titles for all ages, hand-picked by crack information professionals (aka librarians).  Perfect for both the impulse buyer and the careful shopper, as well as the person who just wants to know what library book to check out next.

BABY AND PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

  • Weekly Storytimes
    • Mother Goose Time (Infants-2.5 years) Tuesdays, Dec. 11, and 18 at 10:30 a.m.
    • StoryVine (2.5 -5 years) Thursdays, Dec. 20 and 27 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Inclusive Playgroup: Stories, Songs, and Sign. This interactive, inclusive music and literacy group is for young children at all levels of communication and ability. Facilitated by Beverly Mobilia of Wayland Community Partnerships forChildren and Families. For ages newborn to 3 years. Wednesday, Dec. 19,11:15-12p.m.
  • Brain Building Storytime. Storytime, parachute play, and brain building activity. Program led by Beverly Mobilia ofWayland Community Partnerships for Children and Families. For ages 2 to 5, with parent/caregiver. Wednesday, December 12,11:15a.m.-12:00p.m.
  • Storytime with Corbyn the Dog.Children will listen to dog stories and have a chance to visit with Corbyn, a beautiful Samoyed.  Corbyn (with her owner Helen) has been certified as a therapy dog by Pets and PeopleFoundation.  For ages 3 and up. Thursday,December 13, 10:30 a.m. 

SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAMS

  • What’s Our Story?: Bakers. Join us for a reading of picture book biographies about two amazing bakers: Hanson Gregory, who invented the doughnut, and Christopher Ludwick, a patriot with a talent for baking gingerbread. Children will learn about the bakers, make sock doughnuts, and decorate freshly baked gingerbread cookies! Program led by librarian EliseKatz. For children in grades 1 to 3, with caregiver. Wednesday, December 12,3:30-4:30 p.m.
  • Drop-in Holiday and Solstice Crafts. Join us to make festive holiday and solstice crafts. For children ages 5 and up. Wednesday, December 19, 3:00-4:30p.m.
  • Family Movie Afternoon.Children are invited to watch the movie Coco at the library! Running time 109 minutes.  Rated PG. Popcorn will be served. For children ages 4 and up. Thursday, December 27, 3:00-5:00p.m.

FOR FAMILIES

Chari-Tea Family Concert. Enjoy a concert, taste teas, and enjoy cookies, at this event in support of Cradles to Crayons. Sharon of Metronome Music Studio in Framingham and her students will play holiday tunes and family favorites on stringed instruments. Mary from Vermarje Tea Co. will be giving tea tastings. There will be apple juice for kids. Donations of new underwear and socks for babies to 12 are welcome. Tea will also be available for sale after the concert. For all ages. Saturday, December 15, 3:00 – 4:00pm
