  • Trivia Night at the Library. Start the New Year off with some trivial fun at the Library by joining us for trivia, pizza, and snacks.  We’ll play four rounds of five questions each.  Categories will vary and include current affairs, pop culture, sports, history, science and everything in between. Watch our Facebook page for clues!  Registration is required.  Sign up as a team of 2-6 people, or as an individual to be placed on a team.  Wednesday, January 2, 7-9 p.m.

  • Great Presenters: How is History Written? The Story of Herman Allen. Wayland Korean War-era veteran John Dyer acquired a cache of some 85 First World War letters that somehow stayed neatly bundled together for nearly a century.  Wayland High School history teacher Kevin Delaney and his students spent weeks exploring the life and era of the letters’ author, Herman Allen.  Delaney will discuss the narrative his students revealed about life during wartime for the quintessential “kid next door.”  Tuesday, January 8 at 7:30 p.m.

S. Lewis, Rod Serling, Salvador Dali, as well as televangelists, scientists, and others.  Monday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m.

  • What is Ranked Choice Voting? Ranked Choice Voting allows voters to rank candidates on a ballot in order of preference, instead of having to choose only one candidate among many, and would require true majority support to win an election.  RCV has been the subject of recent articles and editorials, in both local and national media, particularly in response to recent elections in Maine.  Jim Henderson will discuss RCV on behalf of Voter Choice Massachusetts, a non-partisan, politically diverse, non-profit organization.  Wednesday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m.
