Wayland cell tower decision looms

Wayland Town Crier 2/7/19: Wayland cell tower decision looms. The Zoning Board of Appeals is not ready give Verizon Communications Inc. a variance to build a 140-foot cell tower at the Wayland Rod and Gun Club. Instead, the ZBA asked Verizon on Tuesday night to look into the possibility of upgrading equipment on existing towers to close a coverage gap. Verizon has said the gap can only be fixed by installing a tower at the club, but has agreed to look into potential equipment upgrades and report its findings at the ZBA’s Feb. 26 meeting.
