Child care demand less than anticipated

Wayland Town Crier 2/13//19: Child care demand less than anticipated. The number of additional students needing after-school child care next year due to a shift in school start times is now estimated to be about half the 100 the School Department had originally projected. About 40 to 50 more kindergarten through fifth-graders will need child care, according to Patricia Keefe, who runs the district’s Before/After School Extension (BASE) program. Officials determined that figure after further analysis of the spike in demand, she said.
