Spotlight on: Transfer Station Increases & Understanding New Water Meter System

The Board of Public Works recently voted to increase transfer station fees starting July 1st. That will affect many Wayland residents, so we want to find out more about that, and the dynamics of recycling that have resulted in the increase. Then, we dive deeper into understanding the new water meter infrastructure that the department is about to purchase and install. That controversial topic finally passed Annual Town Meeting in April after several attempts over a number of years. Why have they been so persistent? Is there really a benefit to homeowners? And what are the real costs and real benefits? Joining me are Chair of the Board of Public Works, Mike Lowery, and Director of the Public Works Department, Tom Holder. Please join us starting Sunday, May 19.
