Battle in Wayland over proposed artificial turf field: Two town boards at odds

Wayland Town Crier 5/26/19: Battle in Wayland over proposed artificial turf field: Two town boards at odds. Two town boards are at odds over a proposed $3.3 million artificial turf field at the Loker Conservation and Recreation Area. The Planning Board recommended an independent investigator review files of past environmental cleanup efforts to ensure the land is safe to play on. Dow Chemical performed the earlier cleanup, after its research facility closed in 1988. ZBA Chairman Jonathan Sachs called the recommendation a “fool’s errand” during a meeting last month.
