Foundation for Metrowest announces two new Emergency Funds

Dear Friends,

We hope that this message finds you healthy and safe. As the Community Foundation serving this region, the Foundation for MetroWest is announcing the launch of two new funds to further support all who live, learn, and work here.

In partnership with the City of Framingham, the Feed Framingham COVID-19 Fund has been created in order to send emergency funds to organizations working to facilitate direct access to hunger relief efforts in Framingham.

The MetroWest Emergency Relief Fund is a new fund of the Foundation for MetroWest.

This Fund will award one-time operating grants to non-profits addressing the most immediate needs or experiencing significant financial challenges due to closures during broad-based community emergencies, such as natural disasters, financial crises, and public health emergencies.

We know that our communities in MetroWest will face significant challenges over the next few months and beyond. A public health emergency such as the global COVID-19 pandemic illustrates how our lives and our communities are directly tied to one another, and we are committed to ensuring that our donors, nonprofits, and partners can work together to care for our most vulnerable neighbors.

We hope that other funders, businesses, and generous donors will join us to support the good work being done during these challenging and uncertain times through the Feed Framingham COVID-19 Fund and the MetroWest Emergency Relief Fund.

Sincerely,
Judith G. Salerno, Executive Director
Jay Kim, Chief Operating Officer
and the Staff and Board of the Foundation for MetroWest
The Foundation expects to make an initial round of grants from the Emergency Relief Fund as soon as possible. Details on how nonprofit organizations can submit grant requests to the MetroWest Emergency Relief Fund will be available shortly.
