ADULT SERVICES

  • Bonus Borrows on Hoopla. In order to provide relief to libraries and more content to patrons during this difficult time of sheltering at home, Hoopla has created a Bonus Borrows Collection with more than 1,100 top titles and Hoopla favorites: ebooks, e-audiobooks, movies, and more.  Now through April 30, you can borrow any of these always-available titles with no debit against your monthly limit of five.  To create an account, just go to waylandlibrary.org and click on the Hoopla logo.
  • New Remote Access to Ancestry. Ordinarily, you’d have to be in the library to use Ancestry.com, the most popular genealogy database.  But soon (probably by the time you read this) you’ll be able to log in from home just by entering your card number.  Then you’ll have access to Ancestry’s vast trove of census records, birth and death records, military documents, and more.  This service will be available to Wayland residents only.
  • Noon Zoom.  On Friday, April 10, the Noon Book Group will conduct its monthly session via Zoom, the online meeting app.  The book under discussion is Typical American by Gish Jen.  If you’d like to participate, email Andy Moore at amoore@minlib.net.
