ADULT SERVICES

  • Reopening, Step 1: Curbside Pickup. We can’t open our doors to the public yet, but starting June 1, we’ll be filling holds and putting items outside our parking lot door for pickup.  You can place your hold through our catalog or by calling us 9am-12pm.  You can only reserve items that are currently on our shelves; there’s still no delivery between Minuteman libraries.  Once we’ve filled your hold, we’ll call you with the choice of picking it up between 10-11 or 11-12.  If you can’t pick it up that day, you’ll have the chance to pick it up the next, then the hold will be canceled.  You can reserve a maximum of 10 items on your card per pickup. You MUST have an appointment to get your items.  There will be no service at the door, no physical interaction with a librarian.  Of course, we know you’ll practice safe social distancing if you arrive at the same time as another patron.  Unfortunately, we still can’t accept returns, but we expect to do so later in the summer. We appreciate your support and patience as we navigate what is uncharted territory for all of us, and we look forward to finally being able to serve you again in person, even in this restricted fashion.
  • Free Wi-Fi in Our Parking Lot. If you don’t have it at home, or yours is down, just pull into our lower lot.  Look for a network called “wayland_hotspot_8,” then enter the password “wyl_hotspot#8.”  Please practice safe, six-foot distancing and use the Library’s wireless access in a legal and responsible manner.   We’re here for you even when you can’t be here.
  • Learn a Language With Mango. You’ve been saying for years that you wanted to learn a language.  Well, now’s the time to carpe the diem!  Mango offers thoughtfully structured courses that allow you to learn at your own pace in more than 70 languages, including (besides the usual suspects) Igbo, Kazakh, Tamil, and Cherokee.  Mango also offers ESOL instruction geared to native speakers of 21 languages.  Go to Online Services on our home page, then Language to set up your free account.  Bonne chance!
