ADULT SERVICES

  • iPhone Essentials Class Online. Missing out on some iPhone basics?  Join M.J. to discuss organizing icons, SIRI and the microphone, downloading apps, and other features of these versatile and complex devices.  Ideally, you would have access to a computer in addition to your iPhone for hands-on experience. Register here or call the library to sign up for this online class by Zoom.  Limited to six students.  Monday, August 3 at 9 a.m.
  • New!  Schedule Your Hold Pickups Online. We have great new software that makes pickups easier for everyone.  When you get the email saying your hold has come in, just click on the scheduling link.  You can then select the day and time you want to make your pickup.  We’ll have a corresponding calendar on our end that’ll tell us your choice.  Of course, we’ll still call you if you don’t use email notification.
  • Museum Passes (Some, Anyway) Available. Drumlin Farm, Garden in the Woods, the Zoos—basically, the outdoor places.  Check the venue’s website to learn the current policy.  For technical reasons, we still have to keep our reservation system closed, but you can reserve a pass by calling us 9-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9-5 on Friday, and 10-1 on Saturdays.  We’ll arrange a pickup time with you.  Then you’ll have somewhere to go!
  • Libraries Are For Everyone. Please take a look at our “Read Against Racism” page, which includes the Library’s statement in response to the death of George Floyd, as well as multiple resource lists for kids, teens and adults who want to learn more about racism in America.  Feel free to email us if you have something to add to our lists, and watch our calendar for upcoming relevant library programs.
  • New Digital Magazines. If you’re a magazine browser, dip into the six new titles in our digital collection: The Economist, The Hollywood Reporter, The New Yorker, The Pioneer Woman, Rolling Stone, and Wired.  Digital magazines are always available and don’t count towards your limit of 10 digital checkouts. You’ll find them on the Minuteman Overdrive site or by selecting “Magazines” under “Format” in Libby’s advanced search.  Feel free to contact us at info@waylandlibrary.org with any questions about these or other online resources.
