ADULT SERVICES

  • The Library is (Sort of) Open Again! We are so very pleased to welcome patrons back into the Library!  You can now make an appointment for 30 minutes of browsing or computer time on Mondays and Thursdays, 4:15-7:45.  Tuesdays through Fridays, 9:15-9:45, are reserved for seniors and at-risk.  We’re limiting the number of visitors to eight at a time, with no more than four in a group.  Our stacks and the Children’s Room remain closed, but a large part of our main floor has been reconfigured into a browsing area with selections from all of our holdings, including Adult, Youth, and Teen materials, and DVDs and CDs.  Librarians, including Youth Services Librarians, will be on hand to retrieve materials from off-access areas when requested.  Masks are required for one and all and, regrettably, there’s nowhere to sit. Look for complete information at the link at waylandlibrary.org.  Book an appointment through our Event calendar, or give us a call at 508-358-2311.  It’s not as much service as we wish we could offer, but the journey of a thousand miles….
  • Evening Book Group. If you’d like to escape your pre-election jitters, join in on the discussion of the work of humorist David Sedaris.  Contact btuttle@minlib.net for the Zoom link.  Monday, November 2 at 7 p.m.

Contact amoore@minlib.net for the Zoom link. Friday, November 13.
  • Donations Welcome Again. The Friends of the Wayland Free Public Library are excited to accept your book donations again!  Like surrounding libraries, they’ve partnered with Bay State Books and can now accept books/DVDs/CDs/puzzles.  Look for the large white donation bins in the far corner of the parking lot (not the regular book return bin).  Stay tuned for details about when, where, and how they’ll resume sales.  Please, no household goods; just books and media in clean condition.
