ADULT SERVICES

  • The Library is (Sort of) Open Again! We are so very pleased to welcome patrons back into the Library!  You can now make an appointment for 30 minutes of browsing or computer time on Mondays and Thursdays, 4:15-7:45.  Tuesdays through Fridays, 9:15-9:45am, are reserved for seniors and at-risk.  We’re limiting visitors to eight at a time, with no more than four in a group.  Our stacks and Children’s Room remain closed, but a large part of our main floor is now a browsing area with selections from all of our holdings.  The Teen Loft is also open for browsing, one teen at a time.  Librarians will be on hand to retrieve materials from off-access areas.  Masks are required for one and all and, regrettably, there’s nowhere to sit. Look for complete information at the link at waylandlibrary.org.  Book an appointment through our Events calendar, or give us a call at 508-358-2311.  It’s not as much service as we’d like to offer, but the journey of a thousand miles….
  • Phebey’s Bill of Sale with Stacen Golding. The 1764 bill of sale for Phebey, an enslaved two-year-old, is one of the most challenging objects in the Framingham History Center’s collection.  How do we confront evidence of enslavement and oppression in our community?  Join FHC curator Stacen Goldman for a presentation and discussion about the significance of this object and the strong emotions it evokes.  Sign up through the Events menu on our home page.  Thursday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Hoopla Bonus Borrows Are Back. Starting November 1 and continuing through the month, patrons can borrow from special Bonus Borrows content and not use up any of their monthly allotment.  Hoopla is putting together some new and exciting collections for patrons, with over 1,000 titles to choose from in audiobooks, eBooks, comics, and film.
