The Villa closes temporarily due to COVID case

The Town Board of Health issued this statement:

  • April 6, 2021 – The Villa Restaurant – Temporary Closure:  On April 6, 2021, the Health Department was notified by the owner of the Villa that the Villa was closed due to staff testing positive for Covid-19.  The staff had no contact with the public.  The Villa is completing a deep cleaning as per CDC guidelines and protocols. The Health Department has completed a contact tracing investigation and the restaurant is providing full cooperation.  The restaurant will remain closed until at least April 8, 2021.

The Villa sent this messages out to customers on 4/6:

“An employee of The Villa has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual worked Easter weekend. All employees who had any contact with this employee have been instructed to get a COVID-19 test. If you dined here this past weekend, it is suggested that you have a COVID-19 test.  We apologize for the several hour delay regarding this information. The Board of Health needed to be notified first. The Villa is executing a cleaning of the restaurant. We will inform you of a reopening date”

Wayland Patch 4/6/21: Wayland’s The Villa Restaurant Closes Again Due To Coronavirus. The Villa Restaurant in Wayland has closed down for a second time in 2021 due to a coronavirus exposure, according to town officials. The restaurant’s owner notified the town on Tuesday that staff at The Villa had tested positive. Health officials said none of the staff had contact with the public. The restaurant will close for a deep cleaning until at least Thursday.
