Vassar College Professor of Religion Dr. Christopher White will discuss his new book, Other Worlds: Spirituality and the Search for Other Dimensions. The book examines the idea that the universe has invisible, higher dimensions and parallel universes.  It looks at this idea in science fiction, comic books, art and spirituality, examining (for instance) the work of Madeleine L’Engle, C. S. Lewis, Rod Serling (the Twilight Zone), Salvador Dali, as well as televangelists, scientists and others.

About Professor White:

Christopher White received his PhD in Religious Studies from Harvard University, where he studied religion and culture in modern Europe and America. He is particularly interested in religion and science, spirituality and “unchurched” religion, new religious movements, electronic media and popular culture.
