What is Ranked Choice Voting (RCV)? RCV would allow voters to rank the candidates on the ballot in order of preference, instead of having to choose only one candidate among many, and would require true majority support to win an election. RCV would make Massachusetts elections more competitive and fair by encouraging the participation of more candidates and parties, and by ensuring outcomes that more accurately reflect the will of the voters.  RCV has also be the subject of recent articles and editorials, in both local and national media, particularly in response to recent elections in Maine. Jim Henderson will discuss a voting reform known as Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), on behalf of Voter Choice Massachusetts, a non-partisan, politically diverse, non-profit organization.

Jim Henderson is a member of the board of directors of Voter Choice Massachusetts, and is a long-time advocate of Ranked Choice Voting, including during his candidacy for Secretary of State in 2010. With degrees from Princeton University, University of Michigan and Boston University, Jim maintains a law practice in Stow, representing small businesses and nonprofit organizations as outside general counsel, and providing estate planning services to families and individuals.  Outside of the legal and political worlds, Jim sings and performs regularly with In Good Company and in the Christmas Revels.  Jim is also a 1983 graduate of Wayland High School!
